Originally recorded in 2006, The Extended Play is a time capsule at the intersection of waxing and waning styles in indie music. Concurring with the demise of Portland-based emo-pop sensation Hyperstar, Lucien Robert Lindsay’s solo project skyboxer combines the pining grandiosity of full scale emo with the tender instrumentation of folk and the electronic exploration of indie pop also beginning to emerge during the era.
